Day 1: Ground School + Core Skills
Day 1 builds the foundation that keeps paramotoring safe: correct routines, correct decisions, and controlled wing handling. First, we make sure you understand the risks and the rules. Then, we train the hands-on skills that stop problems before they start.
- Safety brief + training standards: how we manage risk, when we stop, and why judgement matters
- Equipment overview: wing, harness, helmet, and radio basics — plus what “airworthy” actually means
- Daily inspections + pre-flight checks: simple checklists you can repeat every time
- Site + weather awareness: wind strength/direction, hazards, turbulence/rotor basics, and clear “no-go” signs
- Wing control (ground handling): inflation technique, directional control, stabilising overhead, and safe aborts
- Launch/landing concepts: what good take-offs and landings look like — and what causes bad ones
Day 2: Consolidation + Practical Progression
Day 2 is about consistency. You’ll repeat the core skills until they become reliable, because reliability is what keeps you safe. In addition, we introduce power-related concepts where appropriate, without skipping the basics.
- Refined ground handling: stronger control in varying airflow, cleaner inflations, better correction timing
- Launch/landing drills: decision points, approach planning, and disciplined post-landing wing management
- Paramotor introduction (where appropriate): safe handling, fuel awareness, and basic operating considerations
- Practical progression: if conditions allow and standards are met, we may move into short, controlled practical exercises under close instructor supervision
- Debrief + next steps: clear feedback, what to practise, and whether you’re ready for full BHPA training
