Jan 9th – 23rd 2027
Feb 6th – 20th 2027

UK weather often creates long gaps in training. As a result, progress slows and confidence drops. To fix that, we run this course from a dedicated base on the Costa de Almería (southern Spain). That gives you a focused two-week block with far fewer interruptions.

  • Price: £2,350 (accommodation included)
  • Duration: 2 weeks (intensive)
  • Max group size: 3 (high coaching attention)
  • Airport: Fly to Almería Airport (LEI) — transfers included
  • Approach: Safety-led, standards-based training

Safety standards and how we train

Powered paragliding is aviation. Risk can’t be removed; however, it can be managed with standards, discipline and decision-making. In practice, we control the system every day:

  • We choose weather and sites conservatively, matched to your stage
  • We run disciplined inspections, pre-flight checks, and launch/landing routines
  • We set progressive tasks while keeping safety margins
  • We coach calmly to build judgement (not dependence)
  • We pace training to manage fatigue (breaks are part of the plan)

If conditions aren’t right, we change the plan. If you’re ready, we move you forward.

Why train in Almería for the BHPA CP Power course in Spain?

The aim is simple: reduce training gaps. Continuity matters. When you practise repeatedly in a concentrated block, skills become routine-driven, more reliable, and safer.

  • More continuity to build dependable launch routines and controlled climbs
  • More repetition for circuits, approaches and accurate landings
  • A proper daily rhythm: brief well, train with purpose, then debrief clearly

Who this course is for

This course is built for total beginners who want a direct, structured route to CP (Power). It also suits anyone who values calm coaching and conservative decisions over rushed sign-offs.

  • You want an intensive two-week programme with clear standards
  • You prefer calm coaching and conservative decision-making
  • You want to return home confident in your routines (not rushed or unsure)

What you will be able to do after the course

By the end of the programme, you’ll have the knowledge and routines expected of a novice CP (Power) pilot within appropriate limits, including:

  • Choose suitable equipment for your weight, build and height
  • Pick safer sites and assess hazards, airflow and turbulence risk
  • Make basic weather checks and understand how conditions may change
  • Set up, check, pack and care for equipment correctly
  • Take off, land and operate safely around other pilots

Arrival and transfers (Almería Airport)

Fly into Almería Airport (LEI). On arrival, we collect you and transfer you to the accommodation base. After that, you can unpack, settle in and prep for Day 1. Meanwhile, we handle local transport to training sites throughout the course. Those transfers are included in the price.

BHPA CP Power course in Spain syllabus (2 weeks)

This is a structured overview. Therefore, timing may shift slightly due to conditions and individual progress. Even so, the priority stays the same: safe standards and repeatable competence.

  • Induction & fundamentals (Day 1): paperwork, safety brief, site/weather basics, equipment intro, inspections, unpowered ground handling
  • Wing control + theory (Day 2): inflation, directional control, turns, flare timing, lectures
  • Paramotor introduction (Day 3): paramotor safety, inspections, fuel handling, safe starts, maintenance awareness
  • Power preparation (Day 4): running drills, throttle control, motor + canopy integration (engine-off) to “ready to launch” standard
  • First powered flights (Day 5): only when standards are met; otherwise, further ground consolidation
  • Circuits, take-offs, landings (Day 6): multiple take-offs/landings, coached approaches, local circuits
  • Longer flights + re-joins (Day 7): longer/higher flights when appropriate, leaving circuit and re-joining, consistent landings
  • CP Power theory + exams (Day 8): theory consolidation, relevant BHPA CP (Power) exams (as applicable), then next steps for UK sign-off
  • Consolidation & accuracy (Days 9–13): multiple flights per day (fatigue managed), take-off consistency, landing standards, target landings
  • Airport drop-off (Day 14): transfer back to Almería Airport (LEI)

In addition, we build contingency into the programme. That protects your training block if conditions interrupt progression.

Who this programme is not for

This programme is not a fit if you:

  • Want to be pushed in marginal conditions or chase airtime over judgement
  • Prefer large groups or informal instruction
  • Want a “flying holiday” instead of structured training with clear standards

Instead, we keep it professional and safety-led. If that’s what you want, you’ll get strong value from these two weeks.
