Paramotor Day Taster

£250.00

BHPA 1-Day Paramotor Taster Course (Wales) —  A safety-led introduction to powered paragliding. Learn kit basics, daily inspections, pre-flight routines, wing handling and decision-making. Flight time (if appropriate) is always weather- and progress-dependent. Gift vouchers available.

1 day paramotor course — a safety-led, BHPA-standard introduction to powered paragliding. You’ll learn the real fundamentals first (equipment, checks, wing control and decision-making), and you only progress if conditions and handling standards are right.

BHPA 1-Day Paramotor Course: a proper, safety-led first step

If you want to try paramotoring, do it the right way. This 1 day paramotor course is built for complete beginners who want a clear, structured introduction without hype. We keep safety margins intact and progress only when your wing control and the weather are genuinely suitable.

Who it’s for

  • Complete beginners deciding whether to commit to full BHPA paramotor training
  • Gift experiences for someone who wants a real introduction (not a “theme park ride”)
  • Anyone who wants the truth: ground skills, judgement, and weather limits

1 day paramotor course – what you’ll learn

  • Paramotor & wing overview: what each component does, what fails, and what to check
  • Daily inspections: lines, risers, harness, frame, prop, fuel system, fasteners
  • Pre-flight routines: layout, inflation plan, abort points, safe handling habits
  • Weather & site judgement: when we fly, when we stop, and why
  • Ground handling: forward/reverse control, stable kiting, moving safely with the wing
  • Launch/landing theory: what “good” looks like and what causes most incidents

Will I fly?

Maybe. Any airtime is earned, not promised. It depends on conditions, your wing control, and safe progression on the day. The goal is not “airtime at any cost” — the goal is competence and judgement that keep you safe long-term.

Safety standards – how we manage risk

  • No rushing. We build the foundation first.
  • Clear stop/hold rules. If it’s not right, we don’t force it.
  • Low instructor-to-student ratio for real coaching and close supervision.

What’s included

  • Structured ground school + practical sessions
  • Use of training equipment (as arranged on the day)
  • Personal feedback: what you did well and what to fix next
  • Advice on the next step: BHPA paramotor training route and realistic timeframes

What to bring

  • Sturdy footwear with ankle support
  • Layers for wind and changing weather
  • Gloves recommended
  • Food/water for the day

FAQ

Do I need experience?

No. This day is built for beginners. If you’re already training, we’ll adjust the coaching to your level.

What happens if the weather is poor?

We don’t gamble with safety. If conditions aren’t suitable, we focus on ground skills and theory, and we’ll discuss options for completing any missed elements.

Is this a licence?

No. It’s a taster day. If you want the BHPA pathway, we’ll explain the full training route and what it takes to become a safe, independent pilot.
