‘BGD Anda paraglider EN/LTF-A, Anda’ means ‘breathe’ or ‘spirit’ in Icelandic. The wing is designed as a lightweight companion for hike-and-fly pilots, travellers, and anyone who wants compact gear that’s ready for adventure. The two smallest sizes come in under 3kg, and the five sizes cover all-up weights from 50kg to 130kg using standard and extended ranges.

Target
The BGD Anda paraglider was developed as a lightweight EN-A wing that’s beginner-friendly. It’s packable for travelling and hike-and-fly, yet it still has good performance and fun handling. Therefore, you can ride early-morning thermals, soar sunset cliffs, or launch from a high mountain with the confidence that you have useful glide back to the landing. However, like all lightweight wings, it needs to be treated with care on rough ground.
Designer’s notes
BGD explored materials and techniques to create a wing that is light, easy and safe, while still giving solid soaring and thermalling performance. The result is a balanced build: kept light overall, but with extra weight accepted where it improves handling or durability.
- Sail: double-coated Porcher Skytex 27 for proven longevity
- Lines: Edelrid Pro Dry treatment to increase water repellency
- Softlinks: supplied as standard to keep the connection light and avoid hard points
- Risers: 12mm Kevlar with lightly padded handles and brake snap-locks
Launch behaviour is a standout feature. In light winds the wing sits overhead easily, and it’s designed to be forgiving if you pull the A’s too hard while refining your timing. In addition, the slow stall speed and firmer brake pressure near stall add safety margin for developing pilots. Finally, a dedicated smaller compression bag makes packing faster and keeps the package sleek and compact.
