BHPA Registered Schools
Are you a BHPA registered school?
Yes. We are a BHPA-registered school (No. 363). Training follows a recognised syllabus designed
to develop safe, competent pilots step by step.
Where are you based, and where do you fly?
We are based near Llanon in Ceredigion, between Aberystwyth and Aberaeron.
Training typically takes place in the Cambrian Mountains when conditions are suitable.
Is paragliding or paramotoring safe?
These are aviation sports with inherent risk—risk cannot be eliminated. Our job is to manage risk
through correct site selection, continuous weather assessment, equipment checks, clear briefings and structured
coaching that prioritises safe margins over “getting a flight in”.
We will change the plan, move sites, delay, or stop if conditions are not suitable.
What happens if the weather is not suitable?
Weather and conditions decide the day. If it is not safe or suitable to fly, we will adapt (timing, location,
ground training focus) or rebook. Safety-led decision-making always comes first.
Paragliding
I’m a complete beginner—what should I book first?
You can start safely with a Tandem Flight (no experience needed) or a 1–2 day Taster.
If you want to train, the typical pathway is EP (Elementary Pilot) then CP (Club Pilot).

Do I need experience or a high fitness level?
No prior experience is required for tandem flights or tasters. A normal level of mobility and basic fitness helps,
because you will be moving with equipment and operating on outdoor terrain. If you have any concerns, contact us
and we will advise the safest option for you.
Are there age and weight limits?
Tandem flights have a passenger weight range of 40–140 kg (subject to conditions and pilot assessment).
Fun days / tasters have a minimum age of 14. For any exceptions or medical considerations, contact us.
What should I wear and bring?
- Supportive footwear (ideally hiking boots), long trousers, and layers
- Warm/windproof jacket, gloves, and sunglasses
- Water and a snack
- No alcohol or impairment—aviation safety rules apply
Is equipment included for training?
Yes—training is delivered with certified equipment provided as part of the course, and you will be taught safe
inspection routines and correct use as a core skill.
Paramotoring (Powered Paragliding)
What’s the difference between paragliding and paramotoring?
Paragliding is generally foot-launched and uses terrain and airflow to stay aloft. Paramotoring adds a motor and
propeller, which can increase launch options and flight planning flexibility—while still remaining weather- and
safety-dependent.
Can I try paramotoring before committing to training?
Yes. A taster is a safe, guided way to learn what the equipment is, how ground handling works, and what training
involves before you commit to a full course.
What’s included in the BHPA Club Pilot (Power) course?
You’ll cover safety briefings, equipment and engine checks, daily inspections, ground handling, launches and
landings, flight exercises and circuits—plus theory including meteorology, air law and navigation—progressing
at a safe pace with clear sign-offs and exams.

All Paramotoring Courses
I’m already a CP paraglider pilot—can I convert to CP Power?
Yes. If you already hold a BHPA CP paragliding rating, you can take a structured conversion course to add powered
skills, procedures and emergency management to your existing foundation.
Booking & Vouchers
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes—tandem vouchers are available and make a strong “first step” into the sport. Choose a date later and book when ready.
How do I book or ask a question?
Use our contact page for phone, email or the enquiry form. Tell us your preferred dates, your starting point
(tandem / taster / course), and any relevant details so we can advise the safest option.
Safety note: Paragliding and paramotoring are aviation activities with inherent risk. Conditions and pilot
readiness determine what is appropriate on the day.
