BGD Dual 3 tandem paraglider

The BGD Dual 3 tandem paraglider is an EN/LTF-B certified tandem wing with effortless launching, precise handling and a smooth, relaxed feel. Designed for professional and private tandem pilots, it combines solo-wing-style performance with excellent passenger comfort.

The wing comes in three sizes and covers certified flying weights from 110 kg to 239 kg. Its revised brake geometry, lightweight construction and 16 cm direct-travel trimmers make it suitable for commercial tandem flying, thermalling, soaring and relaxed leisure flights.

BGD Dual 3 tandem paraglider

The BGD Dual 3 tandem paraglider delivers effortless launching, precise handling and a smooth, relaxed flight for both pilot and passenger.

BGD created the Dual 3 as a completely new tandem wing. It climbs and glides like a solo paraglider while keeping the comfort, stability and easy handling that tandem pilots need.

As a result, the Dual 3 suits professional pilots working all day on the hill as well as private pilots sharing relaxed evening flights with friends or family.

Effortless BGD Dual 3 launching

The Dual 3 rises cleanly and predictably during launch. Therefore, pilots can concentrate on passenger management and making a controlled take-off.

Its lightweight, streamlined construction also makes ground handling easier. Whether launching in light wind or stronger conditions, the wing responds smoothly and remains easy to control.

BGD Dual 3 handling and passenger comfort

BGD refined the brake geometry to provide clear feedback and direct control. Consequently, the pilot can turn accurately, centre thermals and perform smooth wingovers without making the flight uncomfortable for the passenger.

The result is a tandem wing with plenty of energy for the pilot and a calm, reassuring feel for the passenger.

Improved climbing and glide

The BGD Dual 3 climbs efficiently in weak thermals and offers improved glide performance. In addition, its light brake pressure and responsive handling make it easier to stay centred in lift.

Although the Dual 3 offers lively and precise handling, it remains smooth and comfortable throughout the flight.

Visit the official BGD paraglider website for manufacturer information and technical resources.

New direct-travel trimmers

The redesigned trimmers provide 16 cm of direct travel without the previous 2:1 ratio. They use 25 mm rollercam buckles with protective neoprene covers.

This system provides:

  • A larger usable speed range
  • Faster and easier adjustment
  • Better handling in stronger wind
  • Direct and predictable operation

BGD Dual 3 sizes and weight ranges

The BGD Dual 3 comes in three sizes to suit different pilot, passenger and equipment combinations:

  • Dual 3 38 – certified from 110 to 200 kg
  • Dual 3 41 – certified from 120 to 215 kg
  • Dual 3 43 – certified from 120 to 239 kg

Always calculate the complete flying weight before choosing a size. This includes the pilot, passenger, harnesses, reserve, clothing and any other equipment.

Who is the BGD Dual 3 for?

The Dual 3 is suitable for:

  • Professional tandem paraglider pilots
  • Experienced recreational tandem pilots
  • Commercial tandem operations
  • Thermal and soaring flights
  • Pilots who want solo-wing-style handling
  • Pilots who value easy launching and passenger comfort

The wing is equally comfortable completing repeated commercial flights or taking a favourite passenger for a relaxed sunset flight.

Designer’s notes

The Dual 3 is not simply an update to the Dual 2. BGD started with a clean design and aimed to create a tandem that feels much closer to flying a solo wing.

Its crisp handling makes it easy to centre thermals, perform smooth wingovers and manage more technical launches. Meanwhile, the revised brake geometry maintains a comfortable and relaxed experience for the passenger.

BGD also simplified the construction to reduce weight without sacrificing performance. Therefore, the Dual 3 offers better glide, impressive climbing and more enjoyable handling.
